Alessia Giarraputo

Dr Alessia Giarraputo is a post-doctoral fellow and researcher in molecular science.

She joined the Paris Transplant Institute in 2021.

Alessia Giarraputo defended her PhD Degree in 2023 in Translational Specialistic Medicine at the University of Padova, with a curriculum in Cardiovascular Science and Pathology, obtaining highest honors and the recognition of the European Doctorate distinction.

Her research interests focused on tissue-based bulk and spatial transcriptomics to comprehend and elucidate the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying heart and kidney allo- and xeno- graft rejection. She has developed a novel gene expression-based diagnostic method using machine learning approaches to detect rejection events in heart transplantation.

Dr. Giarraputo is involved in the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and the Banff Pathology Heart Working Group.
