Xavier Jouven
Pr Xavier Jouven is Head of the Cardiovascular departments of medical, surgical, prevention and rehabilitation, nephrology and metabolism of the Georges-Pompidou European Hospital, Paris, and Director of the research team integrative epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases, at INSERM-PARCC, Paris.
He joined the Paris Transplant Group in 2008.
He defended his M.D in 1992 and his PhD in epidemiology and biostatistics in 2000. He obtained numerous awards, like the recent INSERM research award and the Yvette Rouanet award in 2016, and supports several funded national and international projects (National Research Agency grants in 2006, 2007, 2013, French/German-National Research Agency grant in 2009, CODDIM in 2008, Labex in 2011, H2020 in 2016).
Pr Jouven gathers experts in specialties such as cardiology, nephrology, pathologists, immunologists, hematologists, statisticians and epidemiologists to develop a transversal and multidisciplinary approach in integrative epidemiology. His research interest focuses on cardiology (sudden death), new neglected diseases and immune-atherosclerosis.
Pr Jouven is also a professor in epidemiology and public health, head of the Sudden Death Expert Centre (CEMS) in Paris and he is a member of the INSERM scientific board.
